Easy install, works as advertised.
Great product and great upgrade, very easy to install. Took less than 5 minutes.
Not sure why VW gave us a good prop, so this was one of the first things I had to add. Install is very simple. I put a little blue loctite on the bolt before installing the ball. The hood opens and closes very smoothly.

Mk8 should come with hood strut from factory.

Our ESP Hood Strut Kit adds convenience and luxury to the Mk8 GTI and Golf R that Volkswagen should have included from the factory. Super simple to install and a must have for anyone who does their own maintenance or mods. Our hood strut securely snaps in place between an existing stud on the strut tower and a custom machined ball that attaches to the hood mounting location.
