The restrictive air duct was redesigned in Mishimoto's intake and placed instead in the rotational-molded air box. The inlet cross-section uses 40% more area, removes two bends in the air path, and shortened the path by 50% for better air flow. The stock intake hose also is replaced with a rotational-molded tube for more flow volume. The stock air box lid additionally has been replaced with a silicone grommet to connect the intake tube and air filter to the air box. This alllows for more flexibility and engine movement.
